Q&A with Ash

Behavioural Consultant

Tell us about your background.

I’ve worked in the field for over 15 years, five of which have been as a Behaviour Consultant.

What does your role involve?

I work in schools, homes, and the community supporting kids and young adults. Support varies from increasing independence in the classroom and supporting daily living tasks like toothbrushing to skill building in the community, such as travel training and money exchanges in shops.

What do you love most about your role?

What I love most about my role is that I get to help open up a wider world around the children and young adults we work with and their families.

What makes you passionate about working in this field?

I consider my job more than just work. Every day is an opportunity to support and advocate for children, young adults and their families. It’s an opportunity to educate and make a change in the wider world about how we can all be more neurodiversity-affirming.
